Hursel Adkins, DO

Hursel Lee Adkins, DO, is a board-certified family medicine physician caring for patients 12 and older. As part of his practice, he performs annual wellness exams, provides chronic disease management and cares for men’s and women’s health. Dr. Adkins’s calling to medicine began in childhood, when he received care for his asthma from his family physician. Those early experiences planted in him the belief that medicine is a ministry of compassion, service and healing. He came to understand that a physician has the privilege to touch every dimension of a patient’s life — body, mind and spirit. For Dr. Adkins, medicine has always been more than a profession — it’s a way to serve, to uplift and to honor the humanity in every patient he encounters. He views medicine as a collaboration and will listen carefully, explain clearly and work with patients to make decisions that honor their health and values, and your life circumstances. His goal is to provide excellent, thoughtful, whole-person care and to build lasting relationships that help people live healthier, fuller, more confident lives. Dr. Adkins is board-certified in both family and geriatric medicine. He earned his medical degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia, and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
