Douglas Thompson, MD

Dr. Thompson is the Medical Director for Hematology and Oncology at AdventHealth Hendersonville. He is board-certified in Hematology and Oncology and focuses on providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Along with leading the Cancer Services program across four locations in Western North Carolina, Dr. Thompson is welcoming new patients at AdventHealth Hematology Oncology Infusion Services Hendersonville.

Dr. Thompson earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC and his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. He went on to complete his residency in Internal Medicine from Emory University and his Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology from Brody School of Medicine East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.
