Central Florida is becoming a destination for world-class medical training as AdventHealth and the Loma Linda University School of Medicine announce a new medical school regional campus located in Orlando. The Loma Linda University School of Medicine - AdventHealth Orlando campus is expected to welcome up to 100 future students annually for third- and fourth-year clerkships.
Students will begin their medical education at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Southern California and complete their clinical requirements for graduation at AdventHealth. The regional campus exemplifies AdventHealth’s commitment to maintaining a robust, academic culture, which also includes clerkship students from Florida State University. As a community benefit, the new Loma Linda University School of Medicine - AdventHealth Orlando campus will not only provide advanced medical training, but also increase access to exceptional health care for Florida residents.
“This is a unique opportunity for aspiring, mission-oriented physicians to continue their education and to begin rewarding careers here in Central Florida,” said Randy Haffner, president and CEO of AdventHealth Florida. “By establishing the Loma Linda University School of Medicine regional campus in Orlando, AdventHealth is developing a highly skilled clinical workforce to care for the future health needs of our community.”
Dr. Vincent Hsu, executive medical director, infection prevention and epidemiology, AdventHealth and associate professor of the Loma Linda University School of Medicine AdventHealth Orlando campus added, “As one of Loma Linda’s many medical school alumni practicing with AdventHealth, I am thrilled we are expanding our longstanding partnership with the establishment of the Loma Linda University School of Medicine - AdventHealth Orlando regional campus. Students will learn from and practice alongside some of the world’s top physicians and across a wide range of specialties. All of us look forward to recruiting and welcoming the best and brightest as they join us to build on their medical school knowledge.”
Since 1909, Loma Linda University School of Medicine has educated future medical professionals and researchers to provide innovative and compassionate whole person care. Graduates of the new regional campus will be uniquely positioned to continue their training in AdventHealth’s highly coveted, hands-on residency programs and to serve Central Florida’s growing communities as they go on to practice.
