SEBRING, Fla. AdventHealth Sebring is growing by adding more than 100,0000 square feet of new clinical space, expanding the hospital’s capacity and advancing the technology used to diagnose and treat heart disease. This expansion project will help patients stay close to home to get the advanced care they need.

AdventHealth leaders and team members joined with community leaders to break ground on the new medical tower during a special ceremony on Wednesday, January 21.

These enhancements represent AdventHealth Sebring’s commitment to caring for the Heartland community, which is especially important for those who once had to travel far from home for complex heart procedures — including an open-heart program, supported by advanced surgical and diagnostic technology.

Other new and enhanced services include:

  • Cardiovascular operating rooms (CVORs)

  • A state-of-the-art hybrid cardiovascular lab

  • An advanced outpatient cardiac catheterization lab

  • New CT imaging technology, including the ability to perform coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) studies

  • Expanded intensive care unit (ICU) capacity with dedicated cardiovascular surgery beds

AdventHealth Sebring also plans to hire up to 200 additional team members as part of the expansion, including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and more.

“This expansion is more than bricks and mortar. It’s a promise to our community. We’re building not just for today, but for generations to come, and this shows our unwavering commitment to making sure every person who lives or visits here can access world-class, whole-person care without leaving Highlands County,” Jason Dunkel, president/CEO of AdventHealth Sebring, said.

HuntonBrady is the architecture firm chosen for the project. Construction, managed by Brasfield & Gorrie, is scheduled to begin in March and is anticipated to be completed in Fall 2027.

"It's easy to get excited about health care construction for the Heartland community because the impact is obvious," said Brasfield & Gorrie Vice President and Division Manager Brad Runyan. "It's an honor to expand AdventHealth's care in Sebring. We've spent more than three decades and 300 projects together, and this hospital expansion allows us to partner with the hospital in building a stronger community for Sebring for generations to come."
