All babies that were born at the RMH Family Birth Place during the month of February received a tiny red hat in recognition of American Heart Month. The hats have been handmade and generously donated by local community members. These hats raise awareness for congenital heart disease, which is a condition present at birth. Nearly 40,000 babies are born with a heart defect every year in the United States.
In order to fit 5 lb. newborn Lexi, the Birth Place staff had to search for the smallest hat they could find. It looks like a perfect fit!
