VOLUSIA AND FLAGLER COUNTIES, Fla., October 25, 2016 During the month of November, the six Florida Hospitals in Volusia and Flagler counties which comprise the Florida Hospital East Florida Region will celebrate American Diabetes Month to bring attention to this disease and the tens of millions of people affected by it.
- 1 in 11 Americans has diabetes today.
- Every 23 seconds, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with diabetes.
- 86 million Americans are at risk for diabetes.
- Diabetes causes more deaths than AIDS and breast cancer combined.
