NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla., September 20, 2016 Florida Hospital New Smyrna has selected Valerie Hall to serve as critical care nurse manager.
In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the approximately 70 nursing staff in the Florida Hospital New Smyrna intensive care unit (ICU) and progressive care unit (PCU), as well as coordinating nursing efforts to ensure that effective patient care is provided and quality standards are met.
A New Smyrna Beach native, Hall has been with Florida Hospital New Smyrna for 15 years, starting her career as a unit secretary. She most recently served as critical care charge nurse and was responsible for managing, supervising and assisting the nursing staff, as well as providing support and patient care.
Halls mother was also a registered nurse at Florida Hospital New Smyrna for nearly 40 years.
Hall earned her licensed practical nurse and registered nurse degrees from Daytona State College.
