FLAGLER, LAKE and VOLUSIA COUNTIES, Fla., July 13, 2017 Opal Howard has been named regional vice president of human resources (HR) and HR business partner for the Florida Hospital Central Florida Division - North Region, which includes more than 7,800 employees and encompasses the seven Florida Hospitals in Volusia, Flagler and Lake counties.
In this new role, Howard is responsible for developing a vision and strategy, as well as alignment for human resources within the Florida Hospital Central Florida Division - North Region.
Opal has had a long and outstanding career with Florida Hospital and truly lives our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ, said David Ottati, CEO for the Florida Hospital Central Florida Division - North Region. In her new role, she will be responsible for developing our team, which is of utmost importance to our organization. She is an excellent leader and we are blessed to have her in this role.
Howard, a DeLand resident, has been with AdventHealth, Florida Hospitals parent company, for more than 25 years and most recently served as the executive director of human resources for the facilities in Volusia and Flagler counties.
In 2005, she became certified as a senior professional in human resources by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). This global credential validates the high level of skill and knowledge of HR professionals.

The Florida Hospital Central Florida Division - North Region includes Florida Hospital DeLand in DeLand, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City, Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida Hospital Oceanside in Ormond Beach, Florida Hospital New Smyrna in New Smyrna Beach, and Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares.
