Manchester Memorial Hospital (MMH) sponsored the visit of United Stated Senator and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Kentucky Senate President Robert Stivers at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) Manchester Campus. Both Senators primarily spoke about the future of Medicaid and Healthcare, while Senator McConnell also mentioned the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act of 2016.
In the state of Kentucky last year we had more deaths result from overdose than from car accidents. For those communities affected by opioid abuse, the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act is providing millions in Federal funding to Kentucky to treat and prevent the abuse of opioids. If you are in a community where opioid abuse is a problem, take a look at the Bill and go after some of that money, encouraged Senator McConnell.
