DELAND, Fla., March 28, 2017 Florida Hospital DeLand has named Britt Thompson as the new director of case management for the hospital.
In this role, Thompson will develop and lead patient-centered care coordination initiatives that improve transitions of care and reduce both readmissions and patients length of stay by delivering care more efficiently.
Thompson has more than 20 years of experience in health care, which includes being a clinical manager and care management for Spectrum Health Grand Rapids hospitals, a large health system located in Michigan. In these roles, Thompson oversaw six clinical supervisors and more than 150 front line staff to provide care coordination and transition planning.
A New Smyrna Beach resident, Thompson earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She received her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in management and organizational leadership, from American Sentinel University in Aurora, Colorado.
She an accredited case manager - registered nurse (ACM-RN designation) by the American Case Management Association (ACMA). Additionally, she is an active with the ACMA and is a Great Lakes ACMA board member.
