ORMOND BEACH, Fla., October, 14, 2016 In celebration of 150 years of Seventh-day Adventist healthcare, the six Florida Hospitals in Volusia and Flagler counties which comprise the Florida Hospital East Florida Region will host a free concert for the community featuring Christian singer Francesca Battistelli.
In 1866, the first Seventh-day Adventist health care facility opened in Battle Creek, Michigan, healing illnesses without the harmful treatments that were common in the early days of modern health care. They focused on keeping patients safe, while also teaching good nutrition, exercise, and hygiene that helped their communities avoid illness and live healthier lives. This Adventist tradition of whole-person care has become the foundation for current medical industry practices.
By the 1970s, numerous Adventist health care organizations had been established, and in 1973, a group of hospitals formed Florida Hospitals parent company Adventist Health System, uniting like-minded institutions under one common mission: extending the healing ministry of Christ.
The Francesca Battistelli concert will be on Nov. 11 at 6:30 pm at Calvary Christian Center, 1687 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach.
Battistelli is a Grammy award winner and six time Dove Award recipient. Her music features stunning, soulful lyrics that encompass a variety of genres, including jazz, rock, gospel and R&B.
Through her stunning, soulful and openhearted third album, If Were Honest, attendees will hear a deeply honest and powerful piece of work, vividly reflecting the 28-year-old singer/songwriters own journey from being a young woman to becoming a young mother.
The Florida Hospital East Florida Region concert is free and open to the community. There is limited seating and a ticket is required for the event. Tickets are available by visiting FHconcert.eventbrite.com.
