Alex Whitaker-Lea, MD, is a neurosurgeon serving adults of all ages in Rome and Northwest Georgia. Knowing that neurosurgical care can be complex, Dr. Whitaker-Lea takes a compassionate approach to her practice, always ensuring her patients feel seen and heard — and empowered to thrive, despite their diagnoses.

Dr. Whitaker-Lea is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She completed her residency in neurosurgery at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Dr. Whitaker-Lea is a resident member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and Society of Neurointerventional Surgery.

In her free time, Dr. Whitaker-Lea enjoys running and being with family and friends, and she is learning to play the guitar.
