Melanie Townsend, MD

Melanie Townsend, MD, is a board-certified head and neck surgeon and otolaryngologist with seven years of experience. She earned her medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. Dr. Townsend went on to a residency in otolaryngology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, and then completed a head and neck surgery fellowship at the University of Miami in Miami, FL. Since 2021, Dr. Townsend has been an assistant professor of otolaryngology at the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY, and previously was a full-time ENT and head and neck surgeon at the James A. Haley Veteran’s Administration in Tampa, FL. Dr. Townsend is the author of numerous published works and presentations. Dr. Townsend enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and dogs in her free time. She is dedicated to whole-person care, treating each patient’s body, mind and spirit.
