Motaz Al-Hafnawi, MD

Motaz Al-Hafnawi, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist with over 25 years of experience providing whole-person care to adults ages 18 and older. He is fluent in English and Arabic. Dr. Al-Hafnawi felt called to the field of medicine because of its combination of intellectual challenges of diagnosing and treating complex digestive disorders and the ability to build long-term patient relationships. Gastroenterology provides the opportunity to improve patients' quality of life while combining leading-edge technology, research and hands-on procedures that address a wide range of issues. Dr. Al-Hafnawi earned his medical degree from the University of Jordan School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Albashir Hospital, followed by an internship and residency at Rochester General Hospital. His advanced training includes a hepatology fellowship at the University of Miami, a gastroenterology fellowship at McMaster University and a therapeutic endoscopy fellowship at the University of New Mexico. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has contributed to numerous publications, presentations and research in his field.

In his free time, Dr. Al-Hafnawi enjoys spending time with family, playing soccer and coaching a children’s soccer team.
