David Ottati has been named president and CEO for AdventHealth’s West Florida Division. In his new role, Ottati will oversee the strategic direction, development and expansion of the entire division.
Ottati will transition into his new role over the next several months, replacing Mike Schultz, who recently announced he will retire at the end of this year. He will report to Terry Shaw, president/CEO for AdventHealth.
“The West Florida Division has seen incredible growth in the last several years under Mike’s leadership. David is a mission-led, solutions-oriented and collaborative leader, which makes him a natural fit to lead this division forward,” said Shaw. “I’m confident his passion and expertise will further our delivery of faith-based, whole-person care across the communities in our West Florida Division.”
Ottati began his career at AdventHealth as a management resident and quickly advanced in the organization, serving in various leadership roles. Currently, Ottati serves as president/CEO for the Central Florida Division – North Region, which includes the six AdventHealth hospitals in Volusia, Flagler and Lake counties. Prior to that, he served in president/CEO roles for AdventHealth Waterman and AdventHealth Palm Coast. Earlier in his career, he served as vice president in AdventHealth’s Heartland market – which is part of the West Florida Division – where he was directly responsible for the daily operations of AdventHealth Lake Placid and AdventHealth Wauchula.
“I’m honored to be asked to serve in this capacity and look forward to nurturing existing relationships and building new ones with the leaders, providers and team members who make up the West Florida Division. Together, we’ll work to continue elevating and expanding the services we provide to those we serve so they can better experience Christ’s healing ministry and our promise of wholeness,” said Ottati.
Ottati earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington Adventist University, formerly Columbia Union College, located in Takoma Park, Maryland. He went on to earn a master's degree in business administration from the University of Central Florida. Ottati is an active member of his community, serving on multiple boards throughout his career and currently serves as member of the Florida Chamber of Commerce and member of the Economic Development Council for Volusia County and Forest Lake Academy board.
Ottati and his wife, Wendy, have four children: twins Ansley and Eden (19), Macy (17) and Andre (16). In his free time, he likes to stay active through sports like soccer, tennis and ping pong, and enjoying time outside running, riding ATVs and spending time on the water.
