When Jason Manueke joined the United States Marine Corps in 2016, he was searching for direction and a deeper sense of purpose. Four years later, he left the military with more than technical expertise, he carried with him the values of discipline, teamwork, and service that continue to shape his life and career today.
Jason served from 2016 to 2020, stationed at U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific (MARFORPAC) Headquarters at Camp H. M. Smith and Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe Bay. His service also took him abroad to South Korea and the Philippines, where he provided critical technical support to maintain secure communications across global operations.
As a Cyber Network Operator and Data Systems Administrator, Jason managed secure networks, databases, and cybersecurity systems - helping to ensure reliable, mission-ready technology. One of his most meaningful experiences came during a solo deployment to a U.S. compound in the Philippines, where he was responsible for managing a deployable local area network.
“That mission taught me confidence, independence, and the importance of technical reliability,” Jason shared. “Knowing that our systems kept communications secure and operations running smoothly gave me a strong sense of pride and purpose.”
Like many veterans, Jason describes his military service as both rewarding and challenging. The camaraderie of working alongside people from all walks of life was one of his favorite parts, while adapting quickly to demanding and ever-changing environments tested his focus and resilience. Those lessons, he says, still guide him today.
“The Marine Corps taught me that genuine leadership is rooted in service - putting others first and helping them reach their full potential,” Jason reflected.
Now, as part of the AdventHealth Rocky Mountain Region’s IT Department, Jason continues that mission of service, this time in health care.
“My military experience taught me integrity, reliability, and composure under pressure,” he said. “Those same values guide how I support our caregivers every day. I want to make sure our teams have the resources and stability they need to deliver care with excellence and compassion.”
Jason’s journey from the Marines to AdventHealth is a powerful reminder that service comes in many forms and that the skills and spirit learned in the military can continue to make a lasting impact long after active duty ends.
This Veterans Day, we’re proud to honor Jason and all our AdventHealth team members who have served our country with courage, commitment, and compassion.
